The original SulfaTreat product, rated “the best H2S scavenger” by the Gas Research Institute [ GRI ]

For sweetening gas that is less than fully water saturated or for faster reaction speed with fully saturated gas

For low pressure applications such as vent gas or odour control

Similar to the original SulfaTreat product but with up to 2.5x the bed life

For sweetening hydrocarbon liquids such as LPG, LNG, propane and diesel

Disposal in landfill iron sulphide

  • Observe national waste disposal directives.
  • USA Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) test protocol cited in 40 CFR Subpart C (Section 261.20 through 261.24) reacted iron disulphide media is not listed as a hazardous waste in Subpart 261.30 to 261.33 of “Identification and Listing of Hazardous Wastes”.
  • European Union Directive 32001D0119 Reacted iron disulphide is considered a non hazardous waste under; 06 06 Wastes from the manufacture, formulation, supply and use of sulphur chemicals, sulphur chemical processes and desulphurisation processes. 06 06 03 Wastes containing sulphides


The vast majority of reacted SulfaTreat (iron oxide based) is disposed in Class II non-hazardous landfills.
